This week was a good week. For those of you who don’t know, I have been working hard with my Dad on
plans to open our own bakery.

He happens
to be THE most phenomenal baker eva (must be where I get it from). Anyway, we went to look at some potential store
locations this week. We found an awesome
spot, we need to work out the logistics, but it felt great to have forward
movement on a dream that we both share.
In honor of forward movement and “following my bliss,” I got some business cards made for my growing
cake business.

Last week I had two more orders…
A fresh coconut cake for George (it was his birthday) and I
know you are not supposed to brag about your own cakes, but as a
self-proclaimed “Coconut Hater” I was expecting to be ambivalent about it at
best, so imagine my surprise when I tasted it and it was the most delicious, perfectly
sweet, and all around amazing cake I’ve ever had!
I actually went to Whole Foods, got two coconuts and went to
work…I think George will agree that it was worth every swing of my mallet (that
I used to crack the coconuts)!
The other cake was a chocolate on chocolate for another
birthday. I made mini cupcakes of this
one (to taste test) and it was a chocolate lovers dream!
